Mantain the surprise
Between surprise and desire. Unlike the repetition of the stories already told or the series of finished realisms of the existing machinery of art, the work that Justin Earl Grant exhibits with the title of Zeugma seeks to maintain the surprise, a contingency that results from the encounter with his production. Discomfort is the starting point towards the search. Human figures are insinuate, but they are only incomplete strokes where one could identify in a flow with other elements also unfinished. Between rejection and attraction, between opacities and brightness, in desolate landscapes or invented astronomies, it impels us to invent stories, to imagine places, to unleash emotions. What it projects is light of a lack, of what it is not there, of what it is insinuated, of what it is missing. The lack generates desire. It leaves us desirous, restless, seekers.

Mantener la sorpresa
Entre la sorpresa y el deseo. A diferencia de lo repetitivo de los relatos ya contados, de la series de realismos acabados por la maquinaria existente del arte, La Obra que expone Justin Earl Grant con el título de Zeugma busca mantener la sorpresa, contingencia que resulta del encuentro con su producción. La incomodidad es el punto de partida hacia la búsqueda. Las figuras humanas se insinúan, pero son sólo trazos incompletos donde uno podría identificarse en un fluir con otros elementos también inacabados. Entre el rechazo y la atracción, entre opacidades y brillos, en paisajes desoladores o astronomías inventadas nos impulsa a inventar historias, a imaginar lugares, a desatar emociones. Lo que proyecta es luz de una carencia, de lo que no hay, de lo que se insinúa, de lo que falta. La falta genera deseo. Nos deja deseantes, inquietos, buscadores.
